چکیده

X-ray standing wave fields, excited in periodic nanostructured multilayers during Bragg diffraction, have been used to probe atomic migration in multilayers. Ion beam induced migration of Fe impurity atoms from the C layers to the Pt layers in a Pt(Fe)/C(Fe) multilayer, where each layer is about 2 nm thick, has been detected. With a depth resolution better than 0.2 nm of this technique, the direction of Fe migration (here outward) and the change of Fe concentration in C (also Pt) layers have been determined. The results of such measurements are important for understanding the properties of multilayers, for example, the evolution of ferromagnetism in the present example [Dev, Microelectron. Eng. 83, 1721 (2006)10.1016/j.mee.2006.01.230].

Atomic Resolution X-ray Standing Wave Microstructural Characterization of NLO-Active Self-Assembled Chromophoric Superlattices

This contribution reports the first X-ray standing wave structural characterization of self-assembled NLOactive chromophoric multilayers (SAMs). These siloxane-based self-assembled stilbazolium multilayers are intrinsically acentric and exhibit very large second-order nonlinear optical responses. The locations of bromide ions within the SAMs were precisely determined using X-ray standing waves ...

Micromechanical Properties of Nanostructured Clay-Oxide Multilayers Synthesized by Layer-by-Layer Self-Assembly

Clay-based nanostructured multilayers, such as clay-polymer multilayers and clay-oxide multilayers, have attracted growing attention owing to their remarkable mechanical properties and promising application in various fields. In this paper, synthesis of a new kind of nanostructured clay-oxide multilayers by layer-by-layer self-assembly was explored. Nano-mechanical characterization of 18 clay-b...

Oscillating dipole model for the X-ray standing wave enhanced fluorescence in periodic multilayers

Periodic multilayers give rise to enhanced X-ray fluorescence when a regime of standing waves occurs within the structure. This regime may concern the primary radiation used to induce the fluorescence, the secondary radiation of fluorescence or both of them. Until now, existing models only dealt with standing wave regime of primary radiation. We present a theoretical approach based on the oscil...

Magnetic Properties and Structural Study of Ni-Co/Cu Multilayers Prepared by Electrodeposition Method

Ni-Co/Cu multilayers have been grown by electrodeposition method from a single electrolyte (based on Ni(SO4).6H2O, Co(SO4).7H2O, Cu(SO4) and H3BO3) using galvanostatic control on titanium sublayers. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns confirmed the multilayered structure with the nanometer thicknesses. Also, electron diffraction x-ray (EDX)  analysis confirmed the purity of deposited samples. ...

Co/Mo2C multilayer as x-ray mirror: optical and thermal performances

We combined soft x-ray reflectivity and x-ray standing wave enhanced fluorescence to study the optical performance and the thermal induced interface behaviour of Co/Mo2C nanometric multilayers, designed to work in the soft x-ray range close to the Co L3 absorption edge. Grazing x-ray reflectivity measurements were performed at 0.154 nm (Cu Kα line) and at two wavelengths in the soft x-ray range...
